ALOR SETAR: One person was killed while 14 others were injured in two separate accidents here on Saturday morning. In the second accident, a car skidded and rammed into the guardrail at KM43.5 of the expressway near here. The first accident, involving a sedan and a pickup truck, occurred at KM61.2 of the North-South Expressway near Pendang at about 2.28am. State Fire and Rescue Department public relation officer, Fire Superintendent Nor Hafizah Mohammed Lukman said all the injured victims were rushed to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital for treatment. One of the passengers of the car died on the spot while five others sustained injuries in the 3.25am incident.
