Some five people were killed and 21 others were injured when a bus carrying a marriage party fell into a canal, in Subatpur district. They managed to rescued 21 injured persons who were shifted to district hospital. "The bus, carrying marriage party, fell in a canal after the driver lost control of the vehicle," police said, adding that four persons travelling with the marriage party were killed on the spot. Separately, at least two persons were killed while three others were injured in collision between a truck and car in Gaddani on Tuesday.

COIMBATORE: Six people lost their lives in separate accidents in Coimbatore district, between Sunday afternoon and Monday evening. The man sustained injuries and was rushed to a private hospital. Truck driver Vivekanandan N (35), a resident of Pollachi, was on the run.On Monday evening, a trailer mowed down a two-wheeler driver on the Karumathampatty - Annur Road. Syed sustained injuries on his head and was rushed to CMCH. But, on Sunday afternoon, a 20-year-old is said to have claimed his own life after he rammed borewell motor on the Idikarai to Thudiyalur Road, and sustained serious injuries.

The victim, Syed Hayath from Podanur, sustained injuries on his head and was rushed to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH). Though the victim, Rajani V, was rushed to a private hospital, he was declared brought dead, a police officer said. The deceased, Selvaraj T, second year MSc Mathematics student at the CBM College, was a resident of Periya Kuyili. The girl sustained injury on her right leg and is being treated at a private hospital.
