according to CHANDIGARH: Two separate accidents in two States claimed eight lives and injured 14 people on Sunday morning. In Punjab, five members of a family, including two children, were killed in a collision while returning from a pilgrimage in Himachal Pradesh, while an infant and another person managed to survive. Sources said that the family was returning from from Chintpurni in Himachal Pradesh when their car collided with a truck near Khatti village in Phagwara. The 14 other injured people were taken to a hospital in Bilaspur and a case has been registered. Police said Jai Raman and Jagatri died instantly while one N. Kumar, succumbed to his injuries en route to hospital.

One youth was from Madikeri, the other was from BengaluruMysuru: Two youths were killed in Mysuru in separate accidents last night. While a youth from Madikeri was killed on the spot near Manasagangothri, another youth who had come on a sight-seeing trip with his friends from Bengaluru was killed in a car accident on Nanjangud Road. Santhosh who was sitting on the front seat was killed on the spot. He had come to Mysuru on his swanky Bajaj Pulsar bike (KA-12-R-1097) last night to meet his friend Rakshit. According to the Police, yesterday at around 10.30 pm, Rathnakar took his bike and headed out to consume some alcohol.
