Southbound traffic lanes remained closed for about 90 minutes during the investigation, and Roseville police directed traffic via the on- and off-ramps. CHP does not believe alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident, according to the news release. Roseville saw two unrelated traffic fatalities on Monday, both of which were still under investigation as of Wednesday afternoon. The motorcyclist, 51-year-old Andrew Jon Blankenship of Red Bluff, struck the Nissan at roughly 50 miles per hour in heavy traffic, according to a news release from California Highway Patrol. Both directions of Sunrise Avenue were shut down from 9 p.m. until about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, and the crash remains under investigation.
